Vomit of Doom (Arg) interview

Welcome to our butchery! Thanks for accepting this interview request. What is the weather like in Argentina now? Do you listen to music while answering interview questions?

Hail! , greetings from the dark lands of Rio Negro (G.Roca), although now it is hot to shit on these sides, the temperature reaches 41 or 42 degrees, but in the winter it makes its subzero, I'm listening to the last of URN, also quite with the Iron Maiden classics, a bit of Anticimex and Murdok (Argentine heavy metal band in the 80s).

What has been the most surprising country from- which you received interview so far?

Well, it was very nice to receive interviews from Thailand, Italy, Germany, Brazil, but all the interviews that are sent to us are resourced in the best way and answered according to the content, interviews are often answered and the zines disappear or they do not have pay a letter with a copy haha!

Would you think that there are people in Hungary who know and like VOMIT OF DOOM?

They sent me a few messages with photos of our CDs released in Russia and Mexico, it's amazing for us because we play this music with the greatest integrity possible. It's something very good and we would love to do some shows in those lands with great metal scene!

Please tell us a bit about how the band was formed and its current status. There were some line-up changes, right?

The band is formed as in 2008, before we went by names like Electrocution / Insultor (with which a demo called "Force Of War" was recorded in 2006) with the guitarist Artillery Command (who is from the beginning) we were forming the sound in the rehearsals, learning little by little in their instruments, the band went through several lines in both the first guitar and the bass, but now we have the participation of our bassist and producer of the band B.Time (who helps us in recordings of the first Ep "Southern Black Demon", the rest no longer deserves to be named, now focused on future recordings.

When did you start listening to music? What were the first bands that you got to know?

I started when I was about 13 or 14 years old previously my ear is already pointing to the heavy sound, but definitively at age 15 I already knew that this music would be my way to go, the first bands were Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Metallica, Riot, Hermetica, v8, to name a few, then entering the secondary we passed stronger assonidos like Slayer, Possessed, Sarcofago, Voivod, Dorsal Atlantica, Sindrome, Hellhammer, uffffff and lots more of demos that in the 90 had begun to come into our hands, (we are from a small city, not capital).

Do you search for old bands, or maybe newer bands?

I am not one of those who only listen to old bands to become true or old in this, I listen to many emos of new bands, we are aware of the releases and contact with many labels of the Underground, for example we liked the last record of Condor (Norway), also the debut album of Terrorhammer, etc.

Next year VOMIT OF DOOM will be 10 years old. Will there be any special release for that occasion?A birthday party maybe?

Actually V.O.D is already 10 years old, the band was born in 2008, but hey on the internet pages that show information is not always real, they get confused for months, years ..
we plan to release in a few months the new album which was delayed enough but for good!
it will sound more chakal than what we have been doing until now.

Back then, what motivated you to play music? What was your first band and what kind of music did you play?

My first band was a call Rites Of Death (Death Metal) where we were only 3 people from the same age 16 or 17, there are only some very precarious trial recordings ... and I really have the best memories! 98, 99, 2000, 2001 there was a solid scene with committed people ... there was not so much internet junk or lies trying to dirty this music ... nowadays any idiot with a YouTube channel believes the great thing, but we know that they last a lot and then stop polluting

Were you a rebellious kid? Were you ever harassed for listening your music?
For this system to go against the Christian religion is to be a rebel, that great brainwashing they did all over the planet is disgusting ... I do not consider myself a rebel, I consider myself a thinker with firm and free ideas towards my path or line.

What is your first memory of a live show?
There are no marked memories, all the shows are good, it can be some of the first time where everything was very precarious haha

What about alcohol? Are you heavy drinkers? What is most famous alcoholic drink in Argentina? I do not know any Argentina beer, would you name one?
No, I'm not really a heavy drinker, I take just and necessary nothing else, the odd beer, well one of the most taken is Quilmes, but also follows a call Brahama, Insenbeck (that take it cold because hot is disgusting ) and good lately there is a lot of craft beer, I prefer some of those that are more pleasant taste, but when there is thirst! Any of those that cold name are very good.

Your ”Obey the Darkness” album is fantastic and I like it very much! How much time did it take to do it? Are there older songs on it or completely new ones?
Ohh! thanks for your words ! It's great that you like the album Obey! ... it did not take long to record them, since some batteries had already been recorded in the country of Chile and the rest was recorded here in Argentina in our city, it took less than a month to do it, then it was sent to the mastered label and They could do it in weeks for sale and distribution

The ”Magnus Cruelty” EP is also perfect. Are these leftover tracks from the album or were they written after that album?
It was created after the album! Although we had already played 2 Ep songs in the split with Attacker Bloody Ax de Chile!

I really like the cover of ”Obey the Darkness”. Who did it?
Sickness666 (Tailandia)

Your logo looks also cool, who did that one?

The logo is made by my hands. I think it had to be something very personal and primitive and it came out that same!

Do you have jobs beside music? Is it possible to make a living only out of music in your country?

Do not ! Not at all ! .. nobody that I know lives from metal in our country .. it is difficult to live what you like, we have other jobs apart from the band.

I saw on the internet that the city of General Roca lies almost in the middle of the country. How big is the music life there? Are there many metal bands? Are there gigs there?

We are from the middle of the country, that's true, there are good bands and bands that are trash (as everywhere I think) we have a very good relationship with some who take this seriously as Dominador, Devastacion, Enoquian, Pure Massacre, Abominablood etc, there is not such a big scene here, little by little it becomes firm again like in the 90's.

How much do you know Hungary? Do you know Hungarian bands? Have you heard of any famous things that is connected to Hungary?

It sounds "the seven day of doom" ... haha! For us that sound is the glory, great influence!

Your music is true oldschool, raw and visceral black/thrash/speed mixture. Why this particular style appeals to you? Are there similar bands in your country that is worth our attention?

We like the fast and primitive sound like "persecution mania" or "pleasure to kill" to name a few glories, I recommend Dominador! "Pulsion De Muerte" Demo .

Do you have any hobbies?

I dedicate myself to other bands and I also draw some things to express crazy things that come to my head ..

In 2016 a split with DESTROYER ATTACK was released which was a very great release with stickers, patch etc. Fortunately, I could also get that one. How did the idea for this split come?

The Label Thanatophobia made us the proposal and we accepted without any problem, the band D.A seemed very good and we thought it would be a great union, the version is very brutal we are happy with the comments of it.

Have you ever played outside of Argentina? Any country which you would like to visit?

We play many times in Chile
We also went to Bolivia and Peru
We have proposals for Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and part of the United States ... this year we will think about what to do.

So far, none of your releases has been out on vinyl. Are you planning a vinyl stuff? By the way, which is your favourite format?

We have a vinyl of "Magnus Cruelty" (7 ") Edited by the Deathmage Armaggedon of Japan, I think it is already sold out, and our new album will be released in 12 "by mid-year, for me all the physical formats are great!

Are there days when you do not want to listen to any music?

Do not! I never get that, I'm always willing to listen to music!

What is the best and worst feature of yours, in your opinion?

I do not understand the question, I'm sorry.
but from what I understood, the worst of us is that we do not have a room of our own and we must adapt to the times of others, the good thing about us is that no matter how little we try ... when we meet in rehearsals it sounds very devastating and lots of strength and power!

Does it annoy you if the band received a negative review, or you do not give a shit about it?

Do not ! It does not bother me at all, we do not pretend that everyone likes our music, but if you really do not like the sound that the band is contributing? mmmmm! then your path is very far from ours.

Is there any plan in your life that you want to achieve?

Many of the plans I had already materialized, but if I tell you it does not have much grace, but if I can tell you that all the attention in the new album and that will be a great plan!

Are you satisfied with what you reached with VOMIT OF DOOM?

Of course! I am very happy with the achievements we got as a band and more from the country where we came from ... we are very grateful for everything so far!

What do you think of the fact that there are more and more girls play in black, thrash and death bands?
To be honest I'm not a fan of bands with women. I can only name the classics that we all know, for example Derketa or Mythic, I'm not very interested in the metal that I can eat women, even if they are doing good is very good.

What are metal girls in Argentina like? Do you have many female fans?

I do not think we have many female fans, obviously there are some who take this sound seriously, but I really know that they are very, very few!

What is your dearest opinion about the band for you?

I can only say that the band was kept with the usual idiom, convincing to its sound and lyrics, with members who will give everything so that the vomit leaves its mark where you step or your records arrive!

What band you you support in a gig best?

Sodom! .. Venom! ..

Have you ever had a gig that turned out bad? Maybe a funny story?

Not bad, but maybe bad organization or the sound did not help that night, several factors can be for a bad show, but I really do not want to remember.

When can we expect the next album? Do you already have new songs?

The new album will be for the middle of the year the songs are already composed.

Please name us five albums that you can listen to all day long.

"No prayer For The Dying"
"INRI"
"Agent Orange"
"Antes Do Fim"
"Death to Purgatory"

At the end, I saved a special question but if you are not up to it, you can skip this.
